Client-Specific / Issue-Based Audits

A Client-Specific Audit provides a focused assessment of a particular risk area, operational concern or management system component within your organisation.

Where a NOSA 5-Star Audit evaluates overall system performance and a Legal Compliance Audit verifies statutory compliance, a Client-Specific Audit is designed to examine a defined area in greater depth.

The scope is agreed upfront and aligned to your specific operational objective.

What Is a Client-Specific Audit?

A Client-Specific Audit is a structured evaluation of a particular function, process or risk area.

These audits are typically requested when:

  • A specific risk has been identified
  • A trend requires further investigation
  • A client or stakeholder requires targeted assurance
  • Internal management requires independent verification
  • A new process or operational area has been introduced

The audit focuses exclusively on the defined scope, ensuring depth, clarity and actionable outcomes.

Examples of Client-Specific Audits

The scope may include, but is not limited to:

  • Machine guarding and equipment safety
  • Emergency preparedness and response systems
  • Fire readiness and evacuation procedures
  • Contractor management systems
  • Incident investigation processes
  • Occupational hygiene controls
  • Environmental risk areas
  • Hazard identification and risk assessment processes
  • Implementation of specific safety procedures

Applicable Legislation

Depending on the nature of your operations, the audit may include assessment against:

The Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act)

The Mine Health and Safety Act (where applicable)

Relevant environmental legislation

Industry-specific regulations

Documented legal registers and other identified requirements

The audit scope is defined in advance to ensure alignment with your organisational context and risk profile.

Why Conduct a Targeted Audit?

A focused audit allows organisations to:

  • Address high-risk areas proactively
  • Validate the effectiveness of a specific control system
  • Respond to stakeholder or client requirements
  • Strengthen internal governance

By concentrating on a defined area, findings are detailed and directly relevant to operational improvemen
