In 2018 (and while in his early 40s) Khulani Shezi earned a National Certificate in New Venture Creation. “Learning is ‘easy’ at NOSA Training,” he says. “You learn about processes and procedures that can be translated to real-life business.”
A self-described “go-getter”, he took over a taxi business from his late father and had a desire to make that business successful. However, he suffered an accident a few years ago, which nearly ended that dream. “I was left unconscious on the side of the road after a driver ran me over,” he says. “It took me five to ten years to recover from the physical and emotional trauma.”
His learnership has put his ambitions back on track. “I learned about finance and cash management,” he says. “The training also taught me about capitalising on opportunities that could later benefit the business and its employees, and about making decisions based on SWOT analysis.”
